Custom-made Quigley Cartridge Belt
Quigley Belt: Sheridan Design
If you are interested in my making this design for you, place inquiry.
Construction of my basic quigley belts includes the following:
- Sharps rifle cartridge belts designed after the cartridge belt worn by Matthew Quigley in the movie “Quigley Down Under”
- The outer belt, belt lining and loop strip are made with Hermann Oak leather tanned in St. Louis, Mo. USA
- The loop strip is 1 ¼ inch wide and laced through the outer belt leather
- The belts are custom made to carry the 45-70, 45-90, 45-110, 45-120 and 50 caliber cartridges
- Brass or copper rivets with burrs are used in belt construction
- Chicago screws (nickel or brass) are used to secure the buckle chape so that buckles can be changed out
- Belt edges are edged, sanded, dyed, burnished and finished with a clear sealer
- Belt edges are stitched with heavy thread ( white, straw, chestnut, black)
Quigley Belts can be customized with: various types and sizes of buckles, brass or nickel spot designs and rosettes, real Mexican coin conchos, Texas star conchos, repro silver dollar conchos, custom stamping, carving, lettering, personal initials or brand, buckstitching along the belt edge, different color dyes or left natural in color with an oil finish using Montana Pitch Blend Leather Oil and Conditioner, spacing provided for a holster and/or a knife.
To obtain measurements do the following:
- This measurement will provide the length from the tip of the buckle tongue to the center hole on the belt billet. Two additional holes will be provided on each side of the center hole for belt adjustment. Holes will be space one inch apart.
- While wearing all the clothing and equipment, such as pants belt, chaps belt, etc, that the Quigley belt will normally be worn over, place a soft tape measure around your waist, where the belt will be worn.
